I need a place for my rain gear, leathers, tools lunch box and what not .. I have soft bags that carry all that. I did use a BP before I installed saddle bags.

I feel too constricted wearing a backpack, so for the times I ride to school, I strap it to the fender with 2 bungees

the denim finish really lends itself to me not giving a rat's *** about surface scratches

I don't have bags on my bike right now, so I use a backpack. It has chest straps and stays put pretty well. Has worked out pretty well - even picked up coffee in a spill-proof container prior to my daughter's soccer game!

If I am going to work, heading to pick up something from Wally World, etc. Sure. I wear the backpack. Got some detachable saddlebags, hard bags, old Bucco, but they're a pain in the tuchus, and rarely even put them on, so back pack it is.

Doesn't weigh much (till the wife texts you to bring home a gallon of milk or something, then you really feel every bump in the road) and its convenient.

I used to lose a lot of stuff off the bike. Tried all kinds of straps. Tried a backpack for a short time, but want to ride free. So I've had a bag on the back rack on every bike for 30 years.
Wear what you like.

I carry a laptop to and from work so need a bag. I use the Icon Old Skool bag. At $50 I haven't fond anything better, room for laptop, cloths, and lunch. It has a reflective logo and strips for those early morning low light rides.

Mine has a chest and a waist strap that makes it very secure when adjusted properly. If you only have shoulder straps I would think it could get squirley and uncomfortable.
