Hi everyone,I hope someone here can help me.my sportster will start and take off fine.after running it for a bit half hr or more,when i need to stop in traffic or stop with engin off when I go to take off it spits and sputters i have to keep twisting the throttle till it will go.If i pull the choke out or rev it a little i can take off no problem.It doesn't do it while cruising.thank you

We need more info....It be nice to know the year and miles on the bike, as well as if you're the original owner, or did you just buy it used from somebody who left it sitting in a garage for the past two or three years?

Start with this ^^^, and also start checking all of your vacuum lines. Probably a gummed up pilot jet, but could be anyone of numerous things.
