Default battery problems

ive seen it posted in a few places but not really any answers. and most of the time not the alternator. bought my bike last thursday, battery went dead sat, installed new battery and didnt install the copper washers so clamps came loose and battery died sunday. 2 amp trickle charged it over night and installed copper washers now today i took the bike 75 miles and the bike didnt have enough power to turn over. and its dead enough the my guage is truning on and off when i use my signal lights. by the time i got home it wouldnt even make the starter click. i just seems like the battery isnt being charged at all. ik for sure the terminals are tight now. any basic things i should look at for now to start with? thanks guys

Did you check the connections @ starter & frame ground to ensure they're tight as well? If both ends of cable are secure then you've got charging issues somewhere in your electrical system.

Sand down the terminals or scrape the old **** off of them, use dieletric grease around the terminals if you have some, its ok if u dont, its expensive. Make sure the terminals are tight! My bike is extremely senstive to how tight they are, it wouldnt even turn over, another half turn of the wrench of the terminals and my bike was starting up better than any other bike

Get a digital voltmeter and check the battery voltage with the bike running at a fast idle.
