I had a guy I know that owns a custom chopper fabrication shop put the front end together for me..
Their shop had all the right equipment needed, so instead of messing around with it myself they were able to get the job completed in just a few hours.
Here is a link to their webpage. They build a lot of 'ground up' show bikes, both Big Twins and Sportsters. They also build their own frames, and just came out with a new dropped seat softail frame for the rubber mounted Sportsters. It looks like I will be picking up the 'basket case' 2006 1200C that I mentioned a week or so ago, and if so I'm going to have them use their new softail frame and put together a show bike.
They also built some really amazing custom trikes.....
