Default Wiring Problem

I put a set of T-bars on my '09 Nightster this weekend as well as a tank lift/wire tuck. I made a diagram to make sure I got the wiring all back together correctly. After getting everything assembled I wen to test everything. Turned the key on and hit the RUN switch and the bike turns over. Push button does nothing. Everything else works perfect. There is a possiblilty that I read my own handwriting wrong and switched 2 wires. I just dont want to dissasemble before getting anyones 2 cents on the problem. I figure it could be switched wires or a pinched wire and a short. Let me know what you think and a possible solution/test to the problem. Thanks in advance.

yup sounds like you get the power wire to the start switch and the power wire to the button to ignite the the starter switched reversed.

Man I just went through the same thing this weekend while putting on my wife's tbars. Some how I got all the wires mixed up. Anyway what I did was look at the plug coming from the bike and mirror up the wires/plug coming from the bars. After that I was things were good. I had my starter switch and run button backwards. I had to push the starter button to prime the fuel pump and hit the run button to start it, was pretty funny...

i made a wiring diagram when i put 12" bars on my nightster. although it's really unnecessary since all the wires are color matched. in your case, if all the wires are correctly matched to the other same color wire, check each wire for a short somewhere.
