Default Flat Tire: 2012 Forty Eight

Help please. So, I got a nail in the tire the other week, and I dismounted the tires (front and back). I was planning on getting the balance checked, and replacing the tube in the rear (where I got the nail). Harley wants to charge me $95 for that. Does this price sound right? I am open to replacing the tube myself and just getting the balance checked, but I'm inexperienced in this area.

So, questions are:
-Is this a fair price?
-I've done some research on it, but how hard is it to actually replace the tube in a tire? (I would have to buy some tire irons)
-Anyone in LA recommend a motorcycle tire shop around the Glendale area?
-My tires are stock with pretty good tread left. Should I just replace the tires while I've got them off?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

$95 if the wheel is already off the bike is a rip-off. Find a indy shop. Many will mount and balance a tire (if the wheel is off the bike) for $20-$40 depending on where you live. Add to that, the price of a tube, and you're done.

It's $28 for a unmount/mount and balance locally if you bring the wheel. The price you stated is higher than my dealer charges on the bike.

I like Born Free Cycles in Van Nuys:

www.bornfreecycles.com

They are moving to Burbank pretty soon so they will be local to you.

I just had mine done, off the bike with a new tube and dyna beads installed was $53. Definitely look for an independent shop.

Yup, it's a cool $25 for m/b here, if you bring the wheel/tire in at the indy shop here. $95 is crazy!

The dang tubes aren't but $15-$20. I paid $40 to have my Shinko 180/55 (already purchased) mounted to my Street Bob rear wheel. That price included tube and mount/balance.
