One quart 75W90 gear oil or 20W50 motor oil. I use Mobil 1 gear oil.

My FSM says 24oz in one section, 40oz in the other, but to fill to the overflow hole took 32oz. Oddly, splitting the different manual recommendations gives one 32oz as well.

1 quarter & 32oz is little less than a liter, 40oz is over liter, so how much should i put?
it's 94 883Hug, 5 Speed.

If you have an oil level plug, remove the screw and fill it until oil comes out of the hole.

Yeah its an EVO primary, you fill it until it comes out the fill hole.

On the newer, rubber mount engines, you add a liter, but that basically means you just pour it in until the level is just below the lower opening for the round primary cover.

The manual shows the oil level overlapping with the teeth on the clutch side sprocket as the "full line" but it works out to 1 liter, or "pour it in until it flows out the place where you are adding fluid".

YMMV, but if you take the cover off and look, it should be apparent where "full" is.
