My 205 - 55 made my speedo read about 1 mph faster than I was going. The bike always read about 2 mph faster since new. So after the CT my speedo read 3 mph fast. I fixed this by using my ThunderMax to calibrate the speedo to my GPS.

Putting on a 60 series tire will probably not help if your speedo is optimistic, but it will ensure that it does not get worse. Some tuners (like my TM) include the option to calibrate the speedo, there are also some stand alone speedo calibrators you can buy.
