Question Motorcycle Dash Camera

I have been thinking about mounting some kind of camera to my bike. Not a GoPro, I am not trying to take action pictures, just something similar to a car dash cam to tell the story afterwards . Does anyone here have any experience with this? I have seen two camera systems that run from $70 dollars to $700. I am not looking to spend a fortune just get something reliable that I can download later if I need to.

The INNOVV K-2 two Camera system works well. I did a full install thread if you care to look at it: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ers-where.html

Not to hijack the thread, but are you going to Sturgis this year Tom? A while back I saw a post where you were leaning towards going...

Pat
With everything that is going on, and the possibility that they will cancel Sturgis, I am not going to try to go this year. Maybe next year.

I've been using this Garmin Dash Cam Mini. Its reasonably priced and one of the smallest out there. Once mounted, its not even noticeable. It picks up conversation really well when parked or stopped at a red light and your talking to your buddy next to you on his bike, but once moving, between the wind noise and the loud Bub exhaust on my bike, the sound quality is just awful. It comes with two different lengths of USB cables, I use the shorter one. It also comes with an adhesive mount intended for the car windshield. I modified it and drilled a hole in the mount so that I could mount it low on the bikes windshield frame on the inside. The mount stays in place and the unit just pops on and off. Comes with an App that allows you to operate it with your cell phone. It automatically comes on when its powered up. I use a 64 gig micro SD memory card. On its first use it recorded the entire trip from Tampa to Yehaw Junction to Okeechobee and back to the Tampa area. This is what it looks like in my hand.

For documenting your motorcycle rides without the need for action-packed footage, you have budget-friendly options. Motorcycle-specific dash cams are ideal, such as the Matego motorcycle dashcam for basic recording or the mercylion and INNOVV K2 for more features.
You can also repurpose an action camera like the GoPro Hero Session or the AKASO EK7000 by setting them to loop recording mode. This provides decent video quality without breaking the bank.

Is this to document accidents, or you think people want to see your vacation pictures?

I went with this unit.
Installed most of it during a rebuild and it seems to work well.
My bike is torn down now for paint, so I don’t yet have any road experience w/ this camera setup.
