Default engine issue

Ok since I stirred up a worms nest in the Florida Crew/patch thread, I will try to keep this easier. I have a 2011 HD UL and I have noticed increasingly an odd noise from deep in the engine. At cruising speeds (55-75) it is very noticeable but seems to be there most of the time. It is sounding like ping, I normally use regular gas but I am going try premium next time. I did add Gas treatment to the last load of full but that did not really change anything (consequently this last fill up it became more audible). I also notice at take of from stop lights- especially when it is hot there seems to be a ping/knock. the bike has about 2200 miles on it. There is not a noticeable power loss issue...just a annoying ping (ish) sound. Any ideas.

Has the noise always been there but is getting worse? Have you done anything to richen up the lean factory fuel mixture?

Thanks crew for helping out-- I will be adding the premium for now. I will be the one "pinging" down the road on the way to Daytona on the 14th.

I always run 93 octane but one day I pushed the wrong button on the pump and put regular in my heritage and towards the end of the tank it was pinging like crazy filled with 93 never pinged again.

If i'm not mistaken,Most touring bikes call for high octane, read your manual. You should be using 92 octane or better!!
