Default Retifier plug mismatch

Just dropped a 2006 engine into my 2004 ultra. Rectifier on the 2006 has a round three wire connector. The plug on the existing rectifier has a flat two wire connector.

Help!

Is there a "converter" plug out there somewhere? How can I rectify (sorry for the pun) this problem?

Thanks

George

get an '06 style rectifier to match your stator.

Thought about that, for about a second... Three wires to two? Which three?

The problem is that the 2006 is a three phase stator, reason for the three wires coming off the stator. The 2004 is a two phase stator, reason it only has two wires. Why don't you just replace the 2006 stator with the 2004 stator that's in the motor you took out. If you do update to the 2006 regulator, you'll have to also purchase the wires&plug(part#74115-06) that go from the regulator to the battery. The reason being the 2004 battery wire is built onto the regulator and the 2006 battery wire plugs into the regulator.

Thank you very much. I have tried to figure out how to get that friggen plug to the stator out of the block... Perplexing to those who have never done it.

Just looked. Stator exit from the crank is very different between the 2004 and 2006
