Did similar to mine, and gained 8.5 HP and 12TQ over stock. There is definitely a difference in power when riding, but the difference in overall ridability was the biggest difference to me. No more surge feeling when lower speeds at steady throttle, the comp doesn't chatter when you don't give it more;/enough throttle on take off, etc.
It just pulls better all throughout the gears and RPM ranges.
I wish I had a Dynometer in my garage because @ three to four hundred $$ a pop, I'd make a killing on people that think they need to do this on an otherwise stock bike with just a "Stage 1" or what ever it is that you want to call it!

What I think you just said is: You don't have to tune/dyno your motor after installing a high flow breather and pipes. Do you REALLY subscribe to that? I'm thinking you're referring to the dyno only.....yes?
You certainly have to sift through comments for "good" information on the Internet. I can certainly echo many if the comments in this thread by saying that I noticed a big improvement with ridability and power after my Stage 1 and dyno! OldEnuf2NoBtr may not feel as though it is a worthwhile (or worth the coin) adjustment but you will always have critics. I suspect many of the critics have never ridden a bike that has been dyno tuned but will feel more than competent at advising you to spend your money elsewhere. The same is true now with these fuel injected motors as it was in the days of old where you added this and that to a motor and adjusted the carb by means of fuel enrichment screws or rejetting; however, now this is done by means of a computer. Same with canned tunes, that no motor is the same thus different adjustments need to be made to make a particular motor run its best and most efficient. A dyno and competent tuner does thus very thing to make the adjustments to YOUR bike not just putting on a random adjustment from another motor. Rant over. Here is my sheet to show the difference between stock with 4" Jackpot slip-ons to a stage 1 SE air cleaner, decatted stock header and same slip-on exhaust.

I think he's saying for the average rider just using a stage one map is all you need, getting a full dyno is a little expensive for the small increase you'll get out of basic mods.
does anybody do a ride and tune anymore? Or does everyone just drop em off with Bubba and Cooter and leave their credit card?
Well let's see, I'm Active Duty in the Navy and am paying child support. And I have no idea how to dyno a bike. And I am paying with a debit card not a credit card.
Broad generalizations on an Internet forum, who would have thought?

Not stock, changed the exhaust and ac

When done correctly, you'll have peace of mind knowing your bike is running correctly at ALL throttle positions. (not just WFO)
You'll have a baseline of your bike and you'll know if you wasted money on those fancy new pipes next year. (they said more power!)
It can also help with troubleshooting for any problems that may arise in the future. If it's not a fueling issue, you won't waste time and you'll most likely get to the real problem faster.
Who doesn't like that cool printout with your bikes power curve?
I guess many people think it's a waste because you can't see it. "look at this shiny new chrome piece! cool eh"???

my point exactly. Just give me the dyno sheets, n keep the change.
