Hello. Looking for feedback from anyone using the harley ipod interface(#76476-10). I know there are aftermarket kits out there(iron cross,HDPlus, etc.) But i`m interested in the oem. I have read mixed reviews, so before I cough up $$$, would like to hear from owners. Thanks
I've had one installed for three years now and honestly, if I had it to do over again, I would have swapped out my head unit for one that has an iPod interface. The HD unit doesn't interface real well with newer iPod nano's or touch and iPhones. After sitting for several hours it reverts back to the first song on the playlist etc. one would think that within that three year period that there would have been an up date to the software/firmware, but not at all. Bottom line, for the money there are better options out there in my opinion.

I have one and like it. I got mine for $30 after a 20% discounts, dealer gift cards, and Chrome cash so it was a no brainier for me. What exactly do you want to know about it?

Basically if it works as well as described, any major bugs, and can work with a new ipod nano or touch. Does the volume and sound quality match a cd?

Yes it works as described.
I use my Iphone 5C with it. It comes up that it's not reading the ipod version every now and then but it corrects it's self pretty fast. Even when it that comes up the music still plays.
You will need a 30 pin to lightning connector...get the Apple one.
Sound volume is lower then it was when I was running a cable to AUX port but the sound quality is 10X better.

Thanks craigffb for all the info. Just one more question -you mentioned an apple connector- the oem kit does not come with this or, the one you purchased better?

Does the device you're going to use with it have a old 30 pin or the new lighting connector?
If it's the lightning you will need to get the adapter. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, you will when you get the interface installed.
I've had mine installed for about a year now. It works fairly well. I use my iPhone 5s and while it sounds very good, and allows you to use you handlebar switches, it is a bit buggy. I get a message just about every time I connect that it doesn't recognize my device. I have to press the "ok" button on the radio and then it plays fine. It does start at the beginning of the playlist most times I reconnect. I also wish HD would upgrade the firmware to allow it to function better with the newer iPods. For a $400 plus piece of equipment this is very poor customer service! As a previous poster mentioned, if you have a newer iPod/iPhone with the lightning connector, you will need to get an adapter as it comes with the older 30-pin connector. Hope this helps!
Choose HD over Iron Cross Ipod Interface - My 2 cents
Installed in summer got a couple of thousand miles before gremlins started kicking in. Odd display, unsupported acessory etc... all the same problems Ive now found others complaining about. I called IC they sent a new cord, things started to work fine again. Now different issues, no charging of Ipod, slight feedback etc... 3 times Ive had to dismantle bike (i run cord under tank) so while I love working on the bike, its to install new stuff not replace defective cords from a product I paid $350 for. If I spent a little more on an HD unit and had them install I could actually avoid taking my own bike apart several times. IC support has been fine on phone but fact is Ive had to take fairing apart several times replace cable then month later issues again. I just called them today will need to check 12V but after I find the time to once again dismantle my fairing. Personally, go with the dealer installed HD unit so i you have issues they will take care of. not worth the time and aggravation. For example I see plenty of posts where IC has known cord issues, yes I got one of those. Sure they replaced cord no charge but still sent me a unit they should have known had a bad cord. Ive already spent the $350+ so I will see this through but right now AVOID IC AND GO TO THE DEALER. You have been warned
