Had the levers off many many times, there aint no freakin bolt there. Plus it's a lever not a handle for Pete's sake. Maybe he wasn't lookin for the Harley Forum
Checked both of mine...2010 Ultra Classic and a 2010 Street Glide. Street Glide has a cap on top of said hole, and the Ultra has the mirror bolted through said hole with a nut on the bottom. Neither one could block the operation of the brake lever.

What I was thinking a Nut, think there is a bolt, maybe just a SCREW LOOSE. Don't have that model - but, lever - Pin - Clip - Master cylinder - Switch housing

First part of the OP's post was a WARNING!! Last part told us to tell everyone we know. I think the OP thought this was Faceplant, as that is where the dire warnings for non-existent problems are usually placed.
