Who has experience with lowering brackets? Wanna drop my RKC a little bit. I understand lowering shocks are better, so i dont need that reply ahah.
I heard alot of good, and some bad. Curious to hear YOUR review.
You will get a lot of mixed opinions, probably a few more against them. I had them on my 2010 Ultra for a couple of years and then took them off. The only negative I experienced is the change of shock angle caused a rub spot on one of my strut covers. I was using the Burly 1" lowering blocks which seem to be well made but were more expensive than some of the others. There are guys that will tell you the $30.00 brackets work fine but I decided not to try them. I'm one of those guys that has been thinking about 12" shocks but I'm still using the stock 13". Good luck with your decision.
You can go with lowering blocks or shorter shocks, same result. As far as the shock tilt, it's very minor. You would get as much additional tilt going up or down hill. The most important thing to consider is how your heaviest load will effect the lower ride, i.e. tire clearance in the fender. Most shocks offer a means of tightening them for heavier loads or stiffer rides. For the most part, I suppose this would be good enough. I only ride solo (widowed) and I weight around 250 with full cold weather gear on so I don't approach two passenger load.
I see your signature says that you have a RK classic, if that's what you are lowering you might want to check for sure but most if not all of the lowering brackets will not work with the classic leather bags cause there is not enough room for the shocks to change angle. Mine is a classic but I put hard bags on it, I am running 12" Streetglide shocks as well.

I heard that before.. But i found some brackets CLAIMING that they will work with a classic
Appreciate the input. Tough decision. I seen some used 12" shocks for sale recently, might look into that route. Compare new and used prices.
I have a 14 rk. Switched to 12" street glide shocks. That dropped it a good inch. Later this month I'm having my seat narrowed. I've been told that's good for another inch or so. I'm hoping the 2 combined will do the trick for me. Let us know what u go with.
Btw I found my 12" on local craigslist so no shipping charges 😄
