I don't have a windshield from clear view but would sure like to try them out! My stock one ends right where my sight line is, and it drives me nuts. Either it has to be a bit taller or a bit shorter! I just ordered a low profile windshield, but I know that for longer rides, I will need a taller windshield.

Chaplain Wayne
I have the same problem with my 05 RG Chaplain Wayne, so I would l like to see the answers myself. I am either stretching a bit to see over the windshield or slouching to look through it. A couple of inches shorter would suit me just fine. Don't the older RGs have a shorter stock windshield?
Gotta chime in on this one - I am a shorter rider with an 05 EG Classic - I have the stock windshield - I thought I read all the pro's and con's about looking through or looking over the Windshield - The other morning was riding into work - Rode about 2 miles and hit a cool spot and the mirrors and windshield completely fogged over - I had to stand up to see as I was completely blinded by the fogging - Already ordered shorter lexan from ebay - that will NOT happen to me again
I just put a new windshield on my 05 Ultra. The stock windshield was right in my line of sight. I put one on that I bought from Kuryakyn. It is the 8" dark smoke windshield. It is now low enough for me to see over with no problems. The cost was $54.00. I really do like it alot better than the stock windshield. The dark smoke really looks good on the Black Cherry bike IMHO.
my SE electra glide came standard with the low profile smoked sheild...i like it, it isnt in my line of site at all...at first when i got the bike i thought i was going to have to get a larger sheild for long trips(comming off of a road king with a full sheild)but i have adapted to the lower sheild and no longer even want the taller one
Check out fast aire first. They are cheaper and work great. They have many sizes to choose from. I have the 6",8" and finally settled with the 10" light tint.
Mooks,
I had a Clearview on my ST1100. It was of excellent quality. Optics were the best I have yet experienced. I remained scratch free for the 10 years I had it on the bike. It is even thick enough to have deflected a wayward owl (in the New York second I had to see it I think it was an owl) without damage.
For those using the Fast Aire windshields, what are your opinions on there product.
Quility , visibility, effect on the passenger compaired to the stock shield , etc ....
I also am looking right at the top line of my stock shield , not bad if its level and you sit up, but a real pain when you crest a hill ..... so I am thinking of trying a 10 inch shield. (12 is stock)
The fast aire are good quality. I found the 10" to be the best height for me at 5'10". I was looking right at the top of the factory shield too. For any thing higher than the 4" or 6" I would recomend a light tint. I have a 8" dark tint which really sucks in the dark.
