I'd like to know what you've used to mount aux lights onto your forks. I know that MotoLights sells a kit which mounts to the brake calipers, but it's a little pricey for my tastes. Is there an outlet for just the brackets I could use, then I could choose my own lighting setup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and ride safe.
Motolights are expensive, but I know of no other product that willstand up to the conditions that fork lights are exposed to. They are down low, getting hit with solid water, rocks, all kinds of abuse. Motoights are made from solid billet and bulletproof. I just don't believe those inexpensive sets available in auto parts stores will be reliable as fork lights.
I have used them forfour years and on two bikes now and never a problem. I have also usedPIAA and hadproblemswith annual bulb burnout and replacement is $45 per bulb.
You are probably right Jim. I had a set of 1100 PIAAs on my ST1300 and man they lit up the night and I was hoping to reproduce that on my RG. Unfortunately, they were mounted up high under my mirrors and most likely won't stand up to the rigors that fork lights will have to endure. Guess I'll just have to pony up for the Motolights next year unless I can ebay one of the kids off this year.
Anyone need a high school freshman male? I can make you a good deal...well as good a deal as anyone can. LOL[8D]
