Does a failed compensator or a loose compensator nut on a 2006 twin cam sound like rocks rolling around in the primary with an irregular pattern. Not a rhythmic pattern like a bad lifter or rocker arm might make? Thanks and Happy Easter

On my 06, when my comp nut came loose, I thought I broke a connecting rod, it sounded horrible. Scared the crap out of me, I thought my bike was dead.

Opened the primary today. Compensator nut came loose. Not sure if it had any lock tight on it. I'm also not sure if the springs are weak and the nut threads look a little mucked up so I'm replacing the whole assembly with one from a Drag Specialties just for safe measures. The threads on the crank shaft are clean as a whistle. That does make a terrible noise but once you've heard it you'll know it right away if you hear it again.
