starting issues after been running
Have problem starting my 99 HD road king FI sometimes after just shutting down. It almost feels like its flooded or I flooding it. I use the shut off switch then the ignition switch and always in that order. The bike has never left me stranded but I wondering if flip the switch on is primming the fuel just after its bin just running n in a way flooding it?
the fuel system should make pressure and then stop once pressure is built..if the pump keeps running with the ign on and the motor not running you have a problem...injectors, holed line , seal etc.
easy to check with a guage
if you are "flooded" you will smell raw gas from the exhaust- same if you do not have spark
your motor should be programmed to rotate twice before starting...this allows the motor to build forward rotational momentum before the plugs light up
like a chevy...when the motor is hot the starter has a harder time spinning.
much of this is cable and battery condition.
