Well you would think since the dealer cant find the problem it just might be intermittent failure on the rear brake light switch witch is very possible. Had to replace that same switch right after the recall was done on it because the replacement was defective.

I thought the 2011 recall was for the taillight harness? When I bought my 11EGC that was the only dealer service that had been done to the bike other than they replaced the stator. I had my local hd dealer run the vin and called all the dealers that were on record for the vin. That's all they could tell me that was done to it. If there's a rear brake light switch recall, it must not apply to my vin. Maybe it applies to the OP's 2011 UC?
