I followed the directions. It said upload complete but the picture did not show up.

 

Make sure the pic is not too big. (you may have to re-size it) use http://resize2mail.com/ to do that
Before you click out, right click and save the image to your desktop

Then you need a site to host your pic. I use http://photobucket.com/ to do that you'll have to create an account. It's free. Before you click off, click on URL (the one on top of the three choices)
Now you got it on your clip-board.

Go to HD forums, do your text. WHen finished, click on yellow looking icon of the right end of the menu bar.
Past the URL over what is in the box and click Okay. You should at that time see the pic appear in your message.

Finally click okay to upload the message to HD Forums

As you can see, it works for me.
