1987 Electra Glide Classic
Friggin Saddle Bag Lids both blew off.....Toast.
Been lookin for a year to replace lids or complete bag and lid package.
Its like the only bags with no hinge.
What bags will fit? 93???
Problem is the CLASSIC...Numbered bike 487.
Suggestions?
Did you pick up the lids? If so, bite the bullet and have them repaired. Those lids are getting harder and harder to find. You might try a place called Greybeards Cycle Barn. They routinely have older bags and parts.

'87 or maybe '88 and older.I know my '83 had those old style lids. If the tabs on the front of the bags don't have holes, you need to drill holes in them and put a hitch pin clip or something thru the hole,to keep the lids on.
I'm pretty sure '89 and up had the side latch type lids-up til '2014.
The side hinged variety of bags came in around 1994 IIRC, but they are also slightly larger all round than the previous style (I have both). I've never lost a lid in 25 years of riding my 1990 Glide, but then I always lock the lids. You may find you have a challenge finding replacements, so be patient and persistent.

My '93 had side hinges,I thought they went back a little older than that.Maybe not.
