Default Jiffy stand help

I bought a used 2007 Ultra Classic and I am concerned with the Jiffy stand. The stand lock functions correctly, but the stand leg does not make it to 90 degree angle. More like 85-87 degree angle. If the lock was not there it would tip over. Is this normal or is there a problem possible wear bent part ect. With no weight on the stand it does go beyond 90 degree but when weight is applied to stand the bike rolls forward just a little and moves the stand back to 85-87 degrees

Normal. If the lock is engaged that's all you can do. It is possible that you have a bent stand, but you should be able to see that. No disrespect intended, but is this your first HD?

I would put the bike in a chock or strap it down so I could take the arm out and inspect the square part on the top that the dog fits over. Take the top bolt out 4, remove the Dog 5, then take the end of the stand 8 and move it towards the front of the bike to get the spring off.

They do that. Some are way worse than others. It bugs me too. May be a winter project to have some new upper plates laser cut to my spec.

Yup, mine is the same way. It was a little un-nerving the first time I noticed it. Now it doesn't bother me.

Mine does the same thing. I bent it one time. It used to bother me, but now I'm used to it. It still works just fine. Just ads to the journey you've had with it over the years.

My 85 never moved a bit but my 07 does and there isn't a thing wrong with it. Some just move more than others. As long as that plate is going in the slot, it ain't going anywhere. The weight of the bike will keep it there too.
