Around 65-75 mph when I shift into 5/6, my engine warning light comes on. Every time. Sometimes it stays on for a minute, other times it goes out after 5 seconds. It doesn't sound funny or feel funny, doesn't lose power, I have no idea what's going on with it. No codes show up. Anyone have any ideas because right now it feels like I'm pissing into the wind.
Figured it out l, just late posting back. Bad plug and plug wire. Two crappy plugs in a row on same jug.
I hope that is the end of your problems but have you considered the fact that there may be an issue with that cylinder? I would be suspicious about 2 bad spark plugs in a row. On another note, for something that should be as simple as a plug wire change Harley sure makes in a pain on the touring bikes.
i had a friend who thought it was "cute" to pull my plug wire so the wire was not firmly seated on the plug. he would do this to several peoples bike usually while having a beer at the local bar.
similar to the OP problem. the engine light would come on at cruising speed usually in 6th gear. it DID throw a code. "accelerometer error". bothered me forever. wondered what the hell an "accelerometer" was.
one day found the loose plug wire, put it firmly on plug, and never had the CEL light or accelerometer error again.

Sounds like a great way to get your *** kicked. Don't ever f**k with someone else's bike.
Glad you got it figured out, wonder why it didn't throw a code?
It threw a low compression code but only after the second plug went bad. I usually buy parts like that at 4-5 at a time so idk if it was just a bad batch but I took it to a mechanic and he said everything checked out so I'm hoping it was just two crappy manufacturer f ups with the plugs!

Its possible that the "box" of plugs was dropped and that can crack the porcelain and cause misfires under extreme load [cruising in high gear, damp weather, or during a cold start]
Usually cylinders don't damage plugs unless a lot of Pinging is going on.
