Do you guys really........?
Do you guys really torque every little nut, bolt and torx screw on yourHarley, or do you sometimes just hurry things up and tighten by feel.I'm new to all this and it seems a pain to allways have to use a torque wrench for every little bit of wrenching. How do you remember all the torgue settings for every little nut etc. Seems like you would have to have a pohtographic memory to rememberall the different torques or constantly have to be going back and forth to the service manual. Sound difficult to me.
I torqued once, to spec....then, when I snapped most of the bolts torqued and had to drill them out, I get them hand tight which is basically torque on alot of them..Now important things, axle, bars...things like this I will torque
Here to tell you most of the techs at the dealerships don'ttighten the everyday fasteners with a torque wrench. There are "critical" fasteners that always get the torque wrench. I personally use one for the "critical" stuff, but I've been turning wrenches for 35 years, got a pretty good feel for things, (I hope I do). To the everyday DIYS'r: DO USE ONE. Most guys over torque... all the time!
