Default shifter arm question

Need a new shifter arm for my road king. I see that alot of them say they only fit soft tails or dynas. Do all the harleys have the same splined shaft?

You can use others, I used a wide glide on my last bagger, most splines are the same on late models.

Can't imagine why you'd have a problem finding one--saw one in the HD shop that even said "Road King" on it, so they're out there.

To my knowledge, all the 5 speed shift levers are the same except 07. Just went through the same problem. You have to loosen the inner primary to replace the lever on the selector shaft. What you might try first, get a new allen bolt from HD, $1.00 make sure they give you the correct year. 07 is shorter for some reason. Remove the old bolt and install the new bolt and snug up. I use a wobble shaft extension for my allen socket. Once snug, give the extension/allen socket a good smack with a hammer, then tighten down as tight as you can. This 9 out of 10 times fixes the loose shift lever without all the extra work.
