Stretched Bag Durability
So I'm ready to pull the trigger on some stretched bags/rear fender but am unsure whether I should be looking at fiberglass or ABS plastic bags. I'm looking at Bad Dad, Top Carbon, and Milwaukee bagger stuff. Looking to hear from those that have stretched bags how they are holding up to normal riding conditions. I don't want to spend $1800 on bags/fenders and after a couple years, they are cracking and junk. Thanks in advance for any help.

You're looking in the wrong places. Fiberglass is not the way you want to go. They're heavier than hell, and on a Harley, no reason to go with that reinforcement. You're not going to run it 200mph. ABS is what you want. Bad Dad and Top Shop are the path, if that's the path that you want to walk. I rolled with CVO style bag bottoms from VTwin manufacturing. They were $350 and I used my own hardware. My painter loved that they didn't require much prep and charged me $200 to paint them. Straighter than hell and in comparing them to my local HD when I got them, everyone there was smoked on the quality. Eastern sells them and stands behind them.

They're CVO style bags which are 3.5" lower in the rear and 1.5" lower in the front than stock bags.....so, yes, I consider them extended bags over stock HD bags.

I recently purchased brand new 4" extended bags in vivid black all hardware/locks included for under 6 bills from ebay. Can't speak for reliability as I've only had them for 3 weeks, but satisfied so far. Paint seems good, very little imperfections, bags are nice and straight, and hinges seem good. Guess only time will tell how they hold up!
