Mine came 31313. Two yeas later my buddies came 31313. I surprised the hell out of him when I went over and started his Road Glide Ultra. He had told me he did not need to change his. I then went over and started his wife's Street Glide special. These bikes came from three different dealers. It is a good idea to change yours. He still has not changed his or his wife's bike. He figures since it needs brake pads and tires they won't get far. (That's a joke, he just thinks it is too complicated and would prefer to remain stranded. When his fob died in Montana, I had spare fob batteries)

Keep in mind folks - IF your bike is parked next to a building (like a bank) their security system can disable your Key Fob. this is actually in the owners manual - Happened to a friend of mine at Sturgis - parked between two banks - Key fob would NOT work - he used his code - rode to dealer and ask - Bingo -

Was told IF your in this position and you do NOT remember your code - just roll the bike away from the area and try it again..

just passing info along here

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks for posting this, I got it done after watching the part where they don't waste time between functions. Funny how they forget to mention that in the manual.

Each dealer sets the codes as they see fit. At the HD shop where I worked, they set them to the ZIP code.

No. Just a functioning FOB, and the knowledge to do it... the knowledge is easily accessible.

You're welcome.

Youtube has some good videos on this. We watch one and it was straight and to the point. We had it changed in a matter of minutes but yes as some of the other guys have said the fob has to be in working order.

If I got stuck with a sled that had the security doohickey I would put it in the maintenance mode and forget about it. If the key lock won't stop the bad guys, neither will the security thingy.
