Default First Bagger

Hi guys, been away from this forum for a while. After I sold my Rocker I purchased a Night Rod Special and spent most of my time on 1130cc.com forum while doing my build on that one. Finished it about 2.5 years ago and was just finally talked into selling it so I let go my No Limit Customs build Night Rod Special the beginning of Oct.

I bought a 2010 Road Glide Custom, stage 2, lots of black powdercoating done to it, and lots of aftermarket parts including Bad Dad rear bags and fender. I bought it out of Quebec from a Chev dealer there and there was some language barriers being the salespeople were french. I am not sure if they meant to be misleading or it was a simple mistake but it was supposed to have the factory alarm, cruise, and, most importantly, ABS. It does not have any of those things.

I have never been much for buying a bike that has already been done and find the build to be one of the most exciting parts to owning the bike and the pride of doing the work myself. So I started looking for another bike and came across an '11 Road Glide Ultra CVO for what I felt was a pretty good deal.

I am going to do alot of parts swapping off the two bikes. All blacked out parts are going on the CVO, most of the chrome and CVO tins will go on the custom. The CVO is already supposed to have some decent motor work done to it and claimed to be pulling 120 hp / 120 tq but I will have to confirm that when I have it in to be dyno'd. That is one of the main reasons I went to the CVO, it had all the extras I wanted like the ABS you can't add on and other features like cruise, and it already was right around where I wanted to be HP wise without having to shell out a whole pile of cash to get there. The '10 Custom was a good deal so I am pretty sure after I swap all the parts I want off it, I can still get what I paid for out of it and have all those expensive parts now on the CVO for basically my labor.

I have ordered the parts to do my own do it yourself air ride, much thanks to some threads on here and some of the other bagger forums.

Headlights are on order, Daymakers in all black, no halo.

Demon Cycle stretched tank I found on Ebay that had already been sealed inside but seller decided to go another route.

Still straddling the fence on whether to keep the Roland Sands front 21 inch wheel or go to a 26" wheel and the American Suspension bolt on neck. The 21 wheel I have now surges quite badly when I put on the front brake, I believe that maybe the rotor is slightly bent unless they did something wrong when they reduced it to one rotor? If that is the case, I will have to replace the rotor if I keep that wheel and would prefer to go back to 2 rotors, away working for the next couple months so haven't been able to see if that is an option with that rim.

Going with 8" speaker lids and have the JL Audio 7.7" marine speakers on order. Will the factory CVO amp be sufficient or should I be looking at some other options while I have it all apart? Looking for decent sound but not looking to win any sound competitions or anything.

That's about it for now. Just wanted to say hello to the group as I will prob have a lot of additional questions as I do the swap. Attached are pics of my last build, my NRS just before it was completely finished, and the two current bikes Road Glides.

Is there a reason the last 3 pics turned upside down? They were positioned the same way as the rest when I uploaded?

Woah - I'm still holding tight, while my eyes stop spinning!

You should be able to go back and edit. If necessary delete one the upside down pics and reload it, to see if the silly thing loads correctly, then do the others.

Hmm.. Editing didn't work either, still upside down after two attempts. When I double clicked on one of the pics to enlarge it comes up the right way?

I give up, lol

Not sure what the fix is, looking at the metadata the pics were taken with an iPhone probably upside down to the sensor and were flipped upright in the software on the phone. Some software, probably the forums, doesn't pick up on this and doesn't flip it to the intended position.

Did you try flipping it 360 degrees on your computer, save it then upload a new version?

Just tried deleting, bringing up the pics and flipping them, plus renamed them, and then uploading them again but still coming up the same way. Not sure why though as I mentioned if you double click on them they come up with wheels down?

IMO the bike looks fine just the way it is, barring upside down. Just to be civil I will hope you stay away from going larger with the front wheel. The bike is fine the way it is so unless you want a bar hopper why bother? Judging by what you have written I would guess you won't be happy unless you get an amp. Had a J&M on my Road Glide with their RG speakers. Nice sound at any speed, even without rear speakers.
