Were there any changes from the 2007 Road King motor and 2010 that would keep it from being a direct swap? I've got a deal on a low mileage '10 motor from a Road Glide that I want to put in the '07 Road King. Unfortunately, unlike STLCHUCK, who has got 140,000 miles on his '07, mine took a dump at 40,000 when one of the piston skirt oilers broke off into the bottom end.
The '10 has the top motor mount mounted to the front of the front head. I would guess(!) the '10 heads still have the tapped holes to mount the '07 top mount which mounts between the cylinders and the bracket straddles the heads. Make sure that is the case since a 103 has different heads than a 96 and you would not want to swap them.

Nothing special about the pre liquid cooled 103 except displacement, both the 103 & 96 use the same heads. The heads on the 09 and later do have the tapped bosses for the old style top mount as used on the pre 09's.

Reason: Better information
Thanks for the info from you all. The '10 motor I'm getting is a 96" also, so it sounds like a simple swap of the heads will let me bolt this motor straight into the '07.
The 2010 model has a more robust frame than the 2007. The size of the frame tubing and mounting tab positions could cause fitment issues, although likely nothing that would prevent you from engineering a good fit.

Nothing to do with the frame, all the mounting areas he needs are there. The engine is a direct bolt in slam dunk.
Unless someone changed it a 2010 is TC96. 2011 RGU was first with factory 103 except CVO's. The rest followed in 2012
Basically same engine You will need to deal with the different serial number issue.

Actually the first Touring models that came stock with a 103 were the police models; prior to 2011.
