I have an old Corbin dual, which has provision for a rider backrest. If yours has been custom-modified by another firm, I can understand Corbin not being able to help. Who modified it - can they help? Love our Corbin, so if I was in your situation I would simply buy a new one, plus backrest(s) as required.
Nice. I briefly looked at their website and will do more reading about them. The only problem is they are for "stock" seats and my original seat is too far forward about 2". Just briefly reading, it looks like they make the hardware specifically for the bike w/the original seat and its dimensions. If I just needed a backrest, this would be exactly what I would get. There are so many options and reviews that are good/bad. Hard for me to tell unless I can either see it one the bike or sit on it. This looks like a great idea if the need of just a backrest was the issue. Thanks for the information. Glad to know about these options out there.
I think I'm about the take that exact route. I just can't tell a whole lot about a seat by seeing a picture of it, alone and not on the particular bike I have. Saw a seat I liked, read the reviews, then saw a picture of the seat of the guys bike and it wasn't what I was expecting. Have no problem buying a new one, just trying to take all the information and apply it w/out seeing or feeling it. I may try the dealer again and get some dimensions from a seat that works as I want, then take that information and look at the other seats. I know I need at least 2" further back from stock. The one I bought is good but a little narrow for long hauls and no backrest. Though of getting one for the long rides on the weekends from Oklahoma to Arkansas, then changing back to the other one that works fine for everything else.
Just wanted to let you know I solved the problem with the corbin seat on my road king. I traded it in 2016 on a new street glide. Thanks for all the ideas on the corbin seat.

Ha! And that should be the end of this seat thread!!
Seat's ordered and on its way. I'm glad that is over with and looking forward to getting it so I can stay on the bike, longer. I'll get there. Just out of my element w/ this style of bike. Hardtail bar hoppers don't tend to have this issue.
