Default Touring exhaust paint

Anyone ever paint over the black ceramic coating on exhaust? Does it hold? I have a pro pipe that has rust spots coming thru the coating.

I would get the ceramic coating redone, Jet Hot or similar. Paint will likely bubble off due to the heat, but I have not done it to be sure.

I used some 2000 degree paint that I got from Menards on my head pipe just to make it look better... I think the key is heat cycling it to cure it properly. It hasn't been on long but it seems to be holding up well.

Yup, I have used the flat black grill paint for painting outdoor grills on race car headers. That held up really well. Several "Thin" coats as opposed to one thick coat.

www.eastwood.com Has a line of exhaust coatings that auto restorers use.

This works great. I found one that was a brush on version. Great for touch ups or whatever. Used the heat of the exhaust to give it a fresh bake after the application.

My father and I restore antique motorcycles and we've used this product several times. It really seems to hold up good. I also used it on my '99 Ultra when the exhaust started looking bad. It still looked great when I traded it. The key to the high temp coatings is the follow the directions and make sure it cures like it's supposed to.
