Just would like to have some quick opinions on the best tires for my 04 RKC....................Dunlop,Metzlers or Avon.
I am replacing those whitewalls Monday.....Thanks
I just replaced my dunlops with the metzler 880's. I have about 400 miles on them, imo the greatly improve the overall ride of the bike. The big thing that I noticed is they don't seem to be affected by grooves in the road or steel studded bridges as much as the dunlops were.

Avon's are just plain great tires...they were stock on all Harleys for many many years. But some of you whipper snappers may be to young to remember that. Also...any tire can come off the rim during a flat giving the right circumstances.
The only tires I put on my Electra Glides are D402 Police Versions. I get slightly better mileage with these as opposed to the standard D402 and I can usually find them discounted somewhat.
The only real negative comment on these....the Police versions are just a little more difficult to install. I believe them to be a safer tire as well.
The Avon's are fine tires as well. Many years ago, it was all Avon though
I can't tell anyone what the best tire is but I do know that a Dunlop will hold up pretty good with a flat.
Middle of no where, tire shot to he11.......
Never came off the rim. Must have some pretty good sidewalls on them.
Yea, I do carry a patch kit and compressor now.
