It took this 4-item combo to clean the air enough for comfier riding. Hate to say you have to spend more money to dial-in bike, but it's worth the investment.
Another vote for Long Ride Shields.
Go to their site on how to measure.
I look just over the top of mine and the buffeting is probably 85 to 90% reduced from stock. I can now easily wear my prescription glasses without them bouncing all around. And I still get some wind in the face, just without getting beat up.
Check out Freedom Shields. Call John for recommendations. Ride Em & Try Em return policy, 5 year warranty. I just checked their site and they are having a 15% off sale during June. They usually give a discount if you mention this site. Don't know if you can combine both discounts.
I have a 14 Limited, and I'm 6'2. I tried a 7" windsplitter, it was ok, but still a little short. I know you don't want to hear it but, my 8-1/2" Klockworks is awesome.
The only thing that solved the buffeting for me was trading it in on a Road King. I went through 5 shields and hung all kinds of goofy looking **** off my bike (fork fangs, baffles, lower fairing wings, you name it) I think that the batwing just wasnt for me. And before someone says "youre on a motorcycle youre gonna get wind" I want to say, I like wind, if you dont know the difference between wind and buffeting you prolly have never experienced it.
I usually ride the king with no windshield at all and since I am not redirecting air somewhere else and streams arent colliding, buffeting solved.
I really liked the look of the street glide but man moco has to come up with a better design so you can ride it how it comes from the factory.
