Yeah, I noticed exactly ZERO difference between my '16 and '17 where "clunk" is concerned. But then, a) the clunk never bother me; it sounds like solid engagement of really solid pieces and b) It is entirely possible that it is slightly better and I didn't notice, since I don't give the clunk a lot of thought.Originally Posted by GTK

I was been riding a Deluxe before this ride never had any issues. Any suggestions or I am I just a wuss and need to deal with it?

It's odd... As I said my '15 Limited Low has the same clutch. One of the selling points then was 1 pound lighter pull than a standard hydraulic clutch, and it is.

Went from 2010 FLHTCU to 2017 FLHTKL and, yes, clutch requires more muscle. I find myself going into neutral much more frequently at traffic lights, stopped traffic, etc.

Mine clunks in every gear. What I'm still trying to get used to is the very short engagement window and the feedback into the clutch lever every time you shift.
Literally bumps the lever in your hand. It's a weird feeling but not a problem.

I HATE the narrow engagement window, and how the lever is 3/4 of the way out before it starts to grab. They've been that way since 2014, and according to everyone I've talked to, not a damn thing you can do about it. Originally Posted by lp

Personally, I LIKE the clunk. It sounds solid. Id miss it if it wasn't there. But then again, they are trying to attract Goldwing and BMW riders apparently, so......

First thing I noticed on my 17 was the clutch is way harder to pull. And yes bumper to bumper traffic for an hour BLOWS. Especially when you have arthritis. I have to say that's the only complaint I have so far. That and my right calf burning. Thought they were supposed to be cooler.
I wonder how it compares to the older bikes, like an 01?
My 09 is a breeze compared to my old 01.
The 01 got old in heavy traffic for long periods.
I guess I will find out when I take one out for a test drive
