That's the direction I went with the mini boards that match mine , but you still have to place your legs forward when bringing them off and on stopping and starting,my wife likes the mini's plus I used the rear pegs to assemble my highway pegs

When you come to a stop, right before, yell "UP SIMBA" and she will put her ankles on your shoulders. Works for me!

I put on Rico adjustable boards, a little expensive but have paid for themselves over the years. Sorry I don't have a link.

Solved this issue with H-D Reduced Reach Passenger Footboards. Raises the passenger footboards up 2"+. Fortunately, my wife loves the higher footboards and I don't have to put up with the footboards hitting the back of my calves. We are both somewhat challenged height-wise, so might not be such a good solution if you and your passenger are taller.

Is it the foot boards or your passengers boots? If it's her boots, train her. My wife instinctively turns her toes out or moves her feet back. Only took a few times of hitting her toes and then asking her to move her feet out of the way.

She's a great passenger. We have a developed a great system. She asks to get on, asks to get off, and knows to sit still when going slow in traffic or starting and stopping. She also knows she has carte blanche to dance in the seat at highway speed where I hardly notice it.
