J&M Tooling makes a great product for all sorts of applications including motorcycles. I have one on my boat and I can tell you that the quality is TOP NOTCH! Very nice product that allows the flag to swivel 360 degrees on the pole.
They aren't cheap, but should last a lifetime assuming noone steals em.
I have the "small" flags on my EGC also, but if you're looking to fly 3x5's (the big ones) like for a PGR mission, there's a variety of ways to do it. I used pvc piping to fashion the mounts. They work perfectly and have been on many missions at highway speeds with no probs. If people are interested, I'll post pix (if I can figure out HOW to post pix! lol)

I purchased this one http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=All&ci=3085but dont recommend it, it fits well with the 1/2 inch luggage rack but it is spring loaded and didn't last long before it wouldn't hold position. Contacted Kuryakn and they just said to return it to vendor if under warranty.
