Default Build Date?

My wife was asking me today if I could tell her the date our bike was built. Is that possible and if so how?

Thanks & Merry Christmas

I think the month and year are on the neck plate with VIN and other stuff......EXACT date I think you have to check with Harley.

Thanks for all the replies. Good and helpful information.

Today I noticed a tag on the lid inside the tour pack. It has an inspection date. Any idea if that is for just the tour pack or for a completed motorcycle?

I believe those stickers are installed when the saddlebag, tourpak, sidecovers, fairing, etc. were manufactured. Your bike would be manufactured after those parts. I know when mine got delivered to my dealer on the metal shipping pallet, it had a sticker on the r/s sidecover with the colors and the month/day/year on it. My dealer said that's when the bike came off the assembly line.

Update: Dealer was wrong, shocking I know. My build date from Harley was about 2 weeks after that label on the sidecover stated. So it stands to reason that the painted parts were painted 2-3 weeks earlier and then applied to the bike.

Build date is stamped on the frame, mine was built in January 2014. Not sure if there's a day, can't remember.
