This has got to be the worst instructions I've ever read. This part I'm just not comprehending. Trying to install the spacer for the floorboard mounting arm. Not sure how they want it to go.
The right way to do this is to buy a 1" spacer kit for both the footboards. Puts the boards out to where its much easier to keep your feet on them without rubbing the tank or air cleaner along with being more comfortable. Then you can pitch those spacers in the Pro Pipe kit.
Its a bit tricky mounting the Pro-Pipe as the ends of the headers are narrower than the space between the cylinders. I had to tilt the pipe and put in the front pipe then twist around and force in the rear pipe, then try to get the flanges over the studs. Helps if you have a helper hold the muffler when you do this if the pipe is all assembled. Leave the muffler clamp loose and after you get the header flange nuts a little snug (not tight) snug up the bracket bolts then twist the muffler until the mounting flange on top is level with the mount under the saddlebag and the muffler is lying correctly under the bag and not sticking out or in too far. Then tighten up the bracket bolts, the header flange nuts then the muffler clamp.
some advice. I just installed my pro pipe 2 weeks ago. That spacer for the floor board mount is very poorly made. None of the holes lined up. I had to drill out both holes in the spacer to get my bolts through.
I have an older model RK (04). Mine came with (2) I/2" spacers. I had to add another 1/2 " of spacer (now 1" total) between the frame and the floorboard bracket to make it fit.
I HAD passenger floor boards - no more. cannot run them - pipe won't allow it.
The bottom mount bracket is superior to Harleys u bolt style.

Thankfully mine line up. Just trying to figure out why I have all of this hardware.
