I have a 2003 RKC with a PC5 and vance and hines true duals with the 02 sensor holes that are currently plugged as well as high flow AC and slips. Would an autotuner for the PC5 be worth the investment? They cost more than the PC5 as it is.
I used one on my pcv on my night train loved it. Could do my engine mods slowly then just auto tune it. Its the only reason I did cams. It also a good way to get closed loop on older non o2 sensor bikes

I will be posting an autotune AT-100 on the classifieds today with the Wideband O2 Sensors that I used on my PC5 and my PV.
Probably ask $150. I just need to get some pics of the stuff I am posting.
And to answer, Yes the AT works great. I an not using it anymore because I upgraded to a S&S 124 and had the bike tuned on a Dyno.
One question too about the auto tuners. Do they give you the best possible tune or are they more for the best possible efficient burn of the fuel. What do they have over a dyno tune if anything? Very interested in getting one as long as I can see some benefits.
Auto tune will help calibrate the fuel ONLY but requires a map that is fairly close. It is not a true substitute for a good dyno tune but will get you close in terms of fuel management.
I have a powervision with target tune tune on my bike as I like the idea of closed loop in the whole spectrum of fuel management but I still had to get a map that was close and had to manually adjust timing. After that I ran a few auto tune sessions and eliminated all decel pops and smoothed out the idle and low speed surges.
I probably left some hp/tq on the table but I'm fine with that as the bike runs "good enough" for me
I used this model when I had my train https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...d-cooling.html
Worked great. Got 42+ mpg under 75
you can do 10 to 15 min rides when warmed up to get the map close. Then longer rides at usual riding to dial it in. After adding Andrews 26 cams quite a few cells came down and only a few went up past 10%. I started with 88 with propipe map. After u build your map u can go in and tune decel and idle to get rid of heat build up and decel popping

That is an excellent link to reference for using the AT. iClick did a lot of good work in the early days of the AT coming out.
For my 107 build I got a map from Fuel Moto but then ran around 12 sessions on it to dial it in using that thread as a reference. Bike ran great.
When I took it down to Chad at Wide Open Cycles last month he did a dyno run on the bike before anything was done and the curves looked really good.
I am going to post them in a different thread later on my 124 results.
It was so easy after finding that thread I can't believe I wondered if it was something I could even do. Never messed with ign timing it ran so good after a/f tuning I didn't really care. New bikes got 106 kit and been dyno tuned with se tuner.
So, this auto tune, really isn't an auto tune if you have to go in and monkey and tweak the map? Fuel injection bikes, I don't understand all that much, I'm a carb and points dude but seems like a lot of trouble. My mistake at thinking you plugged it in and the ecm, PC5 and the auto tune all worked in conjunction to give it its best possible mileage, efficiency and or power. Is my thinking off on this? What I'm trying to say is that given that I have the PC5, high flow AC, Vance and Hines True duals and kerker baffled Slips with a map from dyno jet accordingly, what will the auto tune do for me, without going in and tweaking the maps and such.
