Default Ultra Glide - Adjust Passenger Backrest?

Just brought home my '06 Ultra Glide. God, what a machine!!! After 20 years of Metrics, don't know why it took me SOOOOO long!

My salesperson told me the passenger backrest / trunk could move back an inch or so to give the passenger a little more room. No mention in the Owner's Manual.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and what is involved?

Thanks so much.

I'm not sure if this works on the 06 models or not but;
eGlideGoodies sells a kit for moving the tourpack back two inches. It is available here:

http://www.eglidegoodies.com/id50.html

From looking at photo, it looks like a longer/extended mount on the bottom of the tourpack

They also sell armrests for the passenger that look pretty useful.

with the detachable mount you can adjust it about 3/4 inch but I couldn't find it under a '06 ultra on the harley website. there is also the relocater kit from kuryakyn that will move it back 2 inches but it is listed for 97 to 05 bikes. Not sure if the moco changed them at all or not but if they did im sure there will be a bunch of new stuff out soon.

I've got the kuryakyn extender and it says that it doesn't work if your bike has the stero amp on bottom of the trunk. My ultra just had the standard stero w/o the power boost amp so it fit great and my SO loves it. It does change the ride just a bit since she's now a little further back, but you'll get used to it, and her legs will never press against your back which can be a nice thing on long rides.

Are you talking about an Ultra Classic? If so the '06's have changed the tour pak. It can be moved back one inch to allow the passenger more room. Look underneath the tour pak, and you will see another set of bolt holes where the tour pak can be moved to. I don't know exactly what has to be done, but from what I saw underneath, it looked like you could take the bolts out of the tour pak and move it back on the bar and then rebolt it to it.

Congrates on your new bike, and hope you love it as much as I love mine. I also was a metric rider, until I bought an '05 Ultra in May. I now have over 7000 miles on it in 4 months, and have enjoyed every one of them. Good luck on moving your tour pak.
