Fork seal leak

Fork seal leak
Just noticed that the '05 EG Classic has a leak in the left front fork seal with a little under 9,000 miles. Called the dealer to get it fixed and was told that this is the second Classic they have seen in the last week with a fork seal leak. He is wondering if there might be a problem with some of the seals. I'll keep you posted.

Please do. I have the same number of miles, and I'm starting to buy the stuff I need for my 10K. Not sure how I'm going to do the forks, but I know I have to buy one of those special tools I saw elsewhere on this site. Might not be a bad idea to spend the few extra pennies for a new set of fork seals since I have to tear them down anyway.

I noticed a drop of oil on the floor of the garage right under the left fork. Checked at the top of the slider and found where it was leaking just a little.
If you have a leak, you will usually see a little oil running down the fork slider or the lower fork.

Fork seals can make a mess on the front of the bike. If you find one leaking under warranty, get it fixed, because you don't want to have oil on your legs while you are driving.
