Default Clutch spring

I saw a question about removal through the derby cover but didn't see how to actually remove the spring itself. 96 road king.
Help!

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. I don't know of any way to get to the spring to remove it, other than by removing the primary cover. To remove the spring involves using a bulky extractor tool, it's not something we can do with our fingers! This is the sort of job that justifies buying the factory service manual, which explains all.

Pull the derby cover, remove the six bolts that are holding the clutch spring retainer onto the clutch assembly, and then just lift/pull it out. Easy Peasy!

Like GR mentioned the older ones are different and you have to pull the outer primary cover off.
