Default Found the reason for my limp mode problem

I have an 11 road glide that would fall into limp mode regularly the dealer was no help got the electrical diagnostic manual and my meter narrowed it down to the twist grip senor while changing it out found this seriously chaffed wire in the handle bar. Get this back together and start with the stereo upgrade which is also failed got my kit from biketronics I will be installing as soon as I finish this service.

That's great you found the problem. I have a feeling we're going to start seeing a lot of chaffed handle bar wiring

Those are original equipment bars. How the hell does it leave the factory like that? Or did someone switch out a faulty grip sensor along the way?

Mine were chaffed on my stock bike with 7000 miles on them. Discovered it when I changed my bars to beach bars so I went over all the wiring with with additional insulation.

No one has ever changed anything on that bike and it has been throwing codes for two years or more every time i went to the dealer they would sing the song and dance even when i brought the question of a service bulletin up

Well played, Dan...well, seems as though you might not need the TPS you bought, but you might want to keep the old one...once repaired...in the saddle bag if you take any cross country trips in the future. Or just keep it around if the new one has the same problem.

Also the plug that goes to the rear of throttle body(you're looking at it from the air intake) take that off and put dielectric grease on it the plug it in. that's what happen to mine
