Default Touring ?

Sorry this will seem long snd drawn out. Looking for suggestions and advice. But I have a 2013 FLHR and 1) Recommendations to HD rain gear to the least space consuming package in the saddlebags and where to get.

2) Want to do LED upgrade to all lights. Really like Custom Dynamic lifetime warranty but definitely not the price. Anybody use anything as bright and from where?

3) would like my seat 3/4" lower and the same closer. I know seats can be redone to fit your needs. But who has the group used?

4) What's the best rear air shock setup that will allow me to lower the bike and raise it back to stock height and ride at either string or in between?

5) If I redo the assent on it, do I need to do anything to the forks, and what needs to be done?

6) Best tire recommendations. I've owned many a bikes, but this is first I'm not selling rather than get tires put on?

Many more questions and advice to be sought. I'm trying build myself a database for when I start it all.

1- can't help you but lots of people use the HD rain gear
2- Save up and get the Custom Dynamic products
3- Check out Mustang seats
4- Ditch the air shocks and go with JRI or Ohlins,
5- not 100% sure but I believe you don't need to do anything.
6- I have had good luck with the Dunlop's

Just my 2 cents

Nothing beats HD rain gear. Side Saddle bags are GREAT for that.

Stop Lamp is from BadAss. http://badasslight.com/ I now have 2017 model so they are VERY bright. Otherwise I used the brightest I can get. Forgot the name. Sry.

I used the lowering kit but made the ride so HARD I took them right off.

I custom my cowboy boots so I had 'me boots made higher than normal with LARGE LUGS and they are GOOD.

I find the stock tires are the BEST all around.

Metzeler is GOOD especially the softer ones but they wear out too fast. I thnk HD has it right with the Dunlops.

Check out the Dunlop's American Elite AE. Like them much better than the stock Dunlop's just did 450 miles in pouring rain and they were great.

1. Good rain gear is worth the space it takes up. HD rain gear has served us well.
Dry runs at home working on your packing list is the way to figure it all out.
2.HD LEDs are great as are CD for some of the custom additions you may want
3. Seats there are likely a few good locals that can help you out.
4. Ride like seats is a personal thing what works for one does not for another. Our 2013 with the right air served us well.
5. If you lower the bike a bit the front will be fine.
6. American Elites Dunlops , They are outstanding in rain. They provide the best over all performance and wear .

Hd rain gear is very comfy and cool(for rain gear that is )i have the hi-vis orange and black and has served me well.they also roll up nice and tight in there own bag and don't take up much space.always in the saddle bag , never leave home with out them. I installed L.E.D'S from super bright LED for break and running on the rear stop light and trunk lights.did not want to mess with load equalizers there for did not install blinkers at this time. super bright has great prices and the break and running lights are much brighter. for my head light and spots i bought LED from fuel moto.these are with out question much brighter,i love the way the road lights up now.these are also 1/3 the cost of custom dynamics LED'S.are they better? i'm sure custom dynamics are better but you pay for them.for the tires i run dunlop's american elites , there much better then the dunlop 402's and last alot longer. can't help you on the other questions.

1) Recommendations to HD rain gear to the least space consuming package in the saddlebags and where to get.I finally sucked it up and just bought the HD rain gear. I should have done it years ago. With a full face helmet on, I can dress out and just ride. I stay just as dry as I was when I started. The boot gaiters are awesome too.

2) Want to do LED upgrade to all lights. Really like Custom Dynamic lifetime warranty but definitely not the price. Anybody use anything as bright and from where?
I went with the JW Speaker headlight. Cheaper than Harley's and a better product. Still running the stock lights everywhere else.
3) would like my seat 3/4" lower and the same closer. I know seats can be redone to fit your needs. But who has the group used? Mean City Cycles

4) What's the best rear air shock setup that will allow me to lower the bike and raise it back to stock height and ride at either string or in between? Shotgun Shocks

5) If I redo the assent on it, do I need to do anything to the forks, and what needs to be done?

6) Best tire recommendations. I've owned many a bikes, but this is first I'm not selling rather than get tires put on? Toss up between Michelin Commander II's and American Elites.

#6 - You've never replaced a tire? You buy another bike rather than replace the tires? Hmm - whatever works for you. How long do you normally keep a bike? How many miles do you ride a year? Just curious.
