Has anyone bought any of the copycat daymakers available on e-bay or amazon? How well do they work? How bout longevity? I have a 2008 ULTRA and thinking about trying them.
I've heard mixed reviews on them. Some love them, some hate them. I don't recall it being a issue of quality as much as the changeover to led headlights. It's a big difference from standard bulbs. Personally I'd go hid and led running lights
i have 3 roadglides, two of the three have harley branded daymakers installed. (thanks chrome cssh) this one got the chinese knockoff.
can't tell the difference. does not do anything to radio. as bright, and the only difficulty was no instructions for install. but since i had done 2 already, it was easy.
Just put Sunpie headlight and passing lamps in my 11 limited. Lighting at night is far superior to stock. They appear very bright when looking straight on at them, but not so much when looking at an angle, so may be less visible to other drivers at angles to the bike. Hasn't caused me any issues with anyone pulling out in front of me. Yet.
Only had them like 6 weeks, so no idea on longevity.
Install was easy, even with no instructions.
Paid $120 for the full set on Amazon. Would do it again
I put one on my SGS from China for $53 shipping in.
Only been on 4 months, never ride at night, but wanted it for daylight "being seen" factor. Works fantastic.
Everybody I ride with compliments me on how they can see me in their mirrors.
Once again I never ride, or plan to ride at night so I can't give an opinion on that.
I got the Sunpie version off Amazon near the end of last year when they were having a sale for around $60, I figured for that price even it lasted only a few months I couldn't go wrong. So far so good, really bright and no other issues, I can't really advise of any negatives.
Watch this video on youtube from headlight revolution "which 7 inch round LED headlight is best" this video will answer any questions you might have on daymaker knock offs
Not to hijack, but this review of the TLP7 is spot on to my findings.
I went with the headlight and passing lights, they compliment each other very well.
