I may have a brain short circuit here but the jack on the Harmon Kardon radio was a AUX in not out .
Iron cross will modify you radio to do most anything you want. And while at it insure less chance of failure down the road by fixing know issues.
Where would this connector be plugged into? I am an old fart & completely ignorant of electronics these days.

On the tank you should have a connector receptacle for the Harley wired headset. Dead center between your crotch and the filler port. There should be one on the tourpack as well for the passenger. Beside the eft or right butt cheek, can't remember exactly which. These are used for infortainment listening. Person to person intercom and CB radio. The din connector to 3.5mm adapter (I juts made my own for this) allows you to listen to the stereo and adjust the volume using the hand controls. I plug my iPod or phone into the Aux-in jack on the HK radio and listen to all of my music. My passenger and I can listen at different volumes, and the earbuds are more comfortable and better at noise cancelling than the Harley headsets.
I believe this application is for newer bikes which have the infotainment radio. My 2012 FLHTC has no 7 pin plugs.
No, the adapter is for the 7 pin plug that bikes with the radio from the factory came with. Since your Classic did not come with one you probably have a dash without the plug in.
Since it was wired for the radio perhaps that plug is coiled somewhere like the antenna wire was. Perhaps under the fuel tank or under your fuel console?
Okay thank you! Will check it out. We are looking at purchasing https://www.jpcycles.com/product/134-637 but I would like to have the ability to listen to the xm satellite from the HK installed on bike from factory.
