LED strip light
Hi,
I own a 2014 ultra classic. Runs great. I bought LED lights for it and thought this is a very simple set up. One red wire, One black and one white. I first tested the lights with a 9v battery and they all worked great. I run the red to the positive post, the black to the neg. They light up but not real bright and the remote wont work correctly. The D button on the remote should turn them on and off, Instead they blink green and that it. So I disconnected the pos and neg terminals and hooked the lights to the battery and the lights work perfect. The remote works as it should. BUT the minute I hook up the neg terminal it again stops working correctly. Now it gets even more strange. If the terminals are both hooked up and i take the red wire and touch the positive terminal the LEDS light up without me touching the black to the ground. But if the terminals are disconnected I have to touch both the red and back to the battery to get them to work. I am thinking I have to be missing something stupid but for the life of me I can't figure this out. The bike itself runs great with out without the LEDS hooked up. Any suggestions?
