LED strip light problems
I own a 2014 Ultra Classic. Runs great no issue there. I decided to add LED strip lights to it. Should have in my mind been a simple set up. 4 wires. Red, Black, Blue (to hook to break light) and the white (antenna for remote) I started by hooking the lights up to a 9 volt battery to make sure they work. No issue there. So I hook the red to the positive the black to the negative. Did not hook up the blue. The lights come on but just in green and the remote wont work right. When they are 1st hooked up they should come on for 3 sec and then shut off but they dont. The D button on the remote supposed to shut the lights off but it just makes them blink. So I disconnect the positive and negative connections from the bike so all i have is the battery. I then hook the lights up to the battery and they work perfect. But the minute i hook the ground from the bike back to the battery the lights change and stop working as they should.. Also when the bike is not hooked to the battery and i hook the LEDs up I need to hook red to pos and black to neg to get them to work as it should be, BUT if the battery is hooked to the bike I only need to touch the red to the pos to get them to light up. The black ground wire is not touching anything. How is this making a complete circuit if the black wire is not touching anything? At this point I am at a loss. I have no idea what is going on. Any advice would be very helpful.
