I know that this is probably out there somewhere but I haven't been able to find it yet.
I want to change the handlebars on my 03 Ultra. The wrist angle is all wrong, I need something straighter. In order comfortably ride the bike I have to have my hands angled across the grips instead of just wrapping my hands around them . When I close my eyes and hold my hands out they're higher and closer to me than the stock bars. I want to stay behind the fairing, partly for weather protection and partly because I prefer the look. I would also like to use the stock cables and wiring.
I've been told that I can go to a 10" bar but every bar seems to have different dimensions. In a comfortable position, the outside edge of my hands naturally goes to about the width of the Khrome Werks Narrow Sweepers. The Wide Sweepers and Wild Ones bars are much wider.
Will the +2 or 2+2 Narrow do the job? Any other suggestions with a straighter wrist angle without going too wide?
For reference I'm about 5'10" and have a Mustang wide touring seat on the bike.
Much like you, I wanted a flatter wrist angle and didn't want to be above the fairing (it gets cold here in ON in early spring & late fall).
I decided on these Khrome Works bars; http://www.khromewerks.com/shop/detail/300400 They are the 1.25" Bobber Bagger Apes. Scroll the pics and you'll see the dimensions.
Much more comfortable than stock and work great for me. They are however wider than stock as well...which also works very well for me.
I have has 2 sets. first on my 2001 road king, now on my 2014 Street glide. On the SG, they are below the faring and i too like the flatter wrist angle.

What height did you go with, 10"? Do you have any pics of them on the bike? Did you have to change anything?

What height of Twin Peaks did you choose?

Those you good. I'm not usually a big fan of the peak but below the fairing they look good. It doesn't seem as dramatic as when they're way above it.

Yes, the Khrome Werks 300400 are the 10". I'm 6'3" and could have gone with 12's or 14's but didn't want my hands above the fairing. As mentioned, I need some wind protection and not real big on the "above the bar" look anyway.
Depending on how far you roll these forward or back will determine the height somewhat as well. I also considered the Twin Peaks, but again looks wise, I'm more of a "traditional bend & chrome" guy.
I wired them internally and did the install myself...just have to be patient. I was able to re-route all the stock wiring and re-position the stock brake line. Initially I re-positioned the clutch cable (not through the inner fairing)...it was tight but worked. I later decided to get a longer clutch cable. Looks much better & functions better going through the fairing as it should be...and have lots of length now. If I recall, I went +6 on the clutch cable.
Here's the only pic I currently have. Sorry...it's dark in the garage and not real good. And I can't take a pic now as I have the bars off and all apart as I'm planning on adding heated grips this winter.
If you go with Khromewerks be very careful on the pullback dimension. I just put the 2+2's on my bike and like everything about them but the wrist angle. They are the 10" narrow sweepers, but I ordered them at max pull back now I do the same thing with my hands on the grips at an angle when cruising. Sucks, as I hate the idea of installing another set to fix the problem. They do seem to be nice bars though.
I put Kromewerks 2+2 Narrow sweepers on my 2012 Streeglide. The wrist angle is perfect. I think a 2+1 might work better but I have some adjustment in them to move them forward.
